About the data

What this site is

A reference for the enthusiast Porsches — the 911, Boxster and Cayman. Specifications, the failure modes that actually matter, service intervals and buying advice, organised by model year so you can go straight to the car in front of you.

How figures are handled

Every specification is tracked as an individual field with its own status. A figure is drafted until someone checks it against a named source, at which point it is marked verified and shows a on the page. The review queue lists all 2482 tracked fields and exactly which of them have been checked — currently 22.

Figures are US-market unless noted. Manufacturer quotes, magazine test numbers and owner experience frequently disagree, particularly on 0–60 times and curb weights; where they do, the published figure is preferred and the disagreement is worth knowing about.

Corrections

If a number here is wrong and you can point at a source, that is the most useful thing anyone can send. Corrections change the data file and the ✓ appears the same day.

How this is paid for

Some links earn a commission — consumables, fluids, filters, bulbs and tools, where a general retailer is genuinely the right place to buy. They cost you nothing extra.

Links to specialist Porsche suppliers earn us nothing. There is no affiliate arrangement behind them. They are there because an IMS retrofit kit or a set of radiators should be bought from someone who knows these cars, and pointing you at a general retailer for those parts would be worse advice that happened to pay better.

Nothing appears in a gear list because it pays better. There are no ads, no newsletter wall, no login, and no tracking beyond aggregate page counts. If a recommendation would not survive being questioned by someone who knows these cars, it does not belong on the page.
